I would like to hook up my washing machine at the house that I am renting. The house has no hook ups for a washing machine and the only place that I have to set the washer within proximity to water supply and drain is in the kitchen close to the sink. I am hoping somebody (or many) here can give me some ideas as to how to accomplish this. I think I'm fine running the water from the kitchen sink supply using a "tee" and running to a valve for the washing machine. My concern is with the drain.

A couple of ideas that I have (in no particular order):
  • Run the drain directly to the sink drain. Problem here would be the 1 1/2" sink drain (from what I've read)
  • Drain the washer into a utility sink which drains (at it's own pace) to the kitchen sink. The problem here is I down I will have the fall for the utility sink to drain.
  • Drain into utility sink and pump into kitchen sink from there.
  • Drain into utility sink and pump into the kitchen sink drain from there.

I hope somebody here can tell me one of these ideas are alright or point me in the right direction.

Thanks!

Joe
