My dishwasher is leaking from above where the hot water connects to the bottom of the dishwasher. I used an endoscope camera to take a few photos in areas that I couldn't see myself and saw what appears to be a broken plastic piece. The photos are below. I'm not a plumber and didn't install this dishwasher (it was probably installed 15-20 years ago). Any ideas? This is the first time a leak has happened in the 4 years I've lived here.

Note that around the time I noticed the leak, the dishwasher also stopped draining properly but I was able to solve this by cleaning the inside of the pump cover.

Thank you!

Maybe order a new one from the factory?

Order a new what? Dishwasher? Or the broken part? I've tried finding diagrams and cant find the part name. Would you know it?

The machine is a Kenmore Smartwash (not sure of the specific model #).

Thank you!

Just wanted to update this thread. I'm in Canada so I used this link to determine the dishwasher manufacturer (Whirlpool)
https://www.sears.ca/partsandservice.html

I phoned Whirlpool and after telling me the dishwasher was built in 2003, they emailed me the diagram & parts list which helped me determine that I need part 8531671 (fill valve assembly). The price I've found online has been around $40-50CAD (double the price than stores in the US...grr).

Looks like this video explains pretty well how to do the part replacement.

Looking forward to getting this solved!
