Dish soap and hot water - clean main line

Can I put degreaser dish detergent + hot water in a main line sewer trap to dissolve the food grease, sludge etc? Followed by a continuous toilet flush for 5 mins so that the dissolved grease ends up in the city line? Is that a good maintenance technique to remove or decrease the amount of grease in the pipes?

I am actually trying to clean out the main house cast iron trap with this method. I intend to use a snake auger after the above mentioned procedure. Then in a few days, I want to jet the entire line, including the trap.

Get a good enzyme product for preventative maintenance. Enzymes will break up and digest soaps, fats and grease.
