Hi:

I have a Peerless WV-03-110 water boiler (identified by a label on the front jacket panel) that must be replaced (I am without heat at present).

Contractor has ordered a WV-03-085 water boiler, and wants to install it, rather than a WV-03-110. He is claiming that the only difference is the nozzle size. Is he correct?

What am I missing here? (Knowledge, of course ! And that is why I am here.... ;) )

I know that both are 3-section cast iron boilers, but cannot believe that each can produce the same BTU output. In fact, the heating capacity is 102,000 for the WV-03-085 boiler and the heating capacity is 129,000 BTU/HR for the WV-03-110; this info is found in the Peerless Cast Iron Oil Boilers Installation Instructions Series WV booklet (ref: Form No. PPV-8014-4, page 10).

Why would Peerless need two model part numbers, labels, etc.?

Thanks in advance for your reply.

yes , alot of time you can increase the heat outputs of a oil burner by increase the gallons per hour of the oil nozzle . normally a one gallon per hour nozzle put out 1444,000 btuh per hour .
I am in Canada so we use the imperial gallon . I always tried to reduce the output without cutting the efficiency. this is what i mean 1645827136023.png1645827136023.png
