Hi,

I have a toilet that is clogged in the bathroom, and now it is clogging everything in the bathroom. Please help.

I ran a long snake (about 4 or 5 feet) down it yesterday many times, but it would not de-clog. I tried a plunger too, but nothing. The clog seemed to be just beyond the snake, because when I played with the snake, it stirred up the "color" in the water, but did not move the clog.

Then finally, after trying these things over and over, the toilet flushed - and I was so excited! - until I heard something in the shower.

I looked and water was coming up in the shower from the toilet! (I could tell because it had that "color.")

Then, I went to wash my hands in the sink, and the toilet started bubbling, and water started coming up in the shower again!

The toilet went back to being clogged right away too.

Is there anything I can do to de-clog this on my own? I tried pouring Liquid Plumr in the shower, thinking that maybe it would fix the problem (if it is in the part that links the shower, toilet, and sink), but now the water that I used to rinse it after 15 minutes is just standing in the shower.

Any help would be great. Thanks!

UPDATE:

The Liquid Plumr got it!

I have no idea how, but the Liquid Plumr I poured down the shower declogged the toilet.

Does that stuff eat through toilet paper?

How could Liquid Plumr eat through toilet paper?

Thanks!

Sometimes a soft stoppage will open up and let water flow ... Temporarily.

Something caused it to back up, so expect it to happen again.
Call a Drain cleaning company and have it snaked out.
You in a house, Apartment, Mobile home???
If in a house, look around outside for a clean out.
Open it if you can the next time it backs up or even before.
Stoppage maybe be farther out than you might think.
Don't waste your money on Drano. That was just a coincidence?

Don't get too cocky with that bottle of Liquid Plumber. That stuff causes more problems then it fixes. You may of gotten lucky this time but next time it happens, have someone use the proper equipment. What you were using was a toilet auger, and barely goes beyond the trap of the toilet
