Depends on what type and brand faucet.

Be more specific and include pictures if possible

Find a "plating" shop or find/buy new trim.
Usually doesn't make sense on lavs. Showers, something to consider on the trim.

Replace it.

If you try to wire wheel the chrome off that faucet, you will be highly disappointed with your results. As said above, trade it out to a finish you desire.
