Bath tub drain and ptrap

I don’t have a ptrap in my Bath tub Drain, how important is it to have one?I want to install one but the tub vent and tub drain is a straight shot. How would I put a ptrap in a straight piece of drain,thanks

Usually the p-trap is below the level that you’re showing.

How are you sure that you don’t have a trap ?

When you flush the toilet, do you hear the sound of water flowing through the tub overflow ?

There is a high probability that your trap is buried in the dirt. It is absolute that every fixture connected to the sanitary system is trapped

No sure if I have a ptrap, Great idea about hearing the water flow in the tub drain. Thanks I will check
