Another newbie intro

Hi everyone...new member here, somewhat retired prototype designer with minimal DIY experience in home repair/reno.
I like to learn what I can where I can mainly so I can hire the right professional if it is beyond the scope of what I feel comfortable with.
That's what I hope to accomplish here, to learn!
