Hello,
I am trying to remove a tub spout that is original to a 75 year old building. The spout itself has a diverter lever close to the base of the spout. I made some exploratory cuts after I was unable to loosen the spout with a pipe wrench and heat.
I was hoping to find a brass nipple or something but it looks like the spout goes directly into the pipe behind the wall. Unfortunately I do not have access behind the wall and it is not in my budget to tear out the tiles and go in from the front. Is there any way I can remove this spout? Would I be able to clean up the water inlet and sweat in some copper pipe?
