Thanks to Nukedaddy's prompt response, my problem is solved. I applied teflon thread tape to the stem and was able to take a normal scald free shower. Thanks Nukedaddy.

My shower hot water handle is slowly turning on it's own causing the water to get hotter. I replaced the stem. It did not correct the problem. My only thought is that I recently replaced my water heater with the result that my hot water is hotter. What is causing my hot stem to turn on it's...
