    Washing Machine Drain Problem

I know this is old, but my sons house had virtually the same scenario, except, the guy that came out snaked the washer line and found nothing. Wanted his 65 bucks and left. When we inquired about the blockage he said he could not go on the roof to snake the vent line without a second helper...

what to do with shower stall installation?

Having recently done a novice shower at my sons house, with the help from JB Forum, I used Kerdi over Hardi. Kerdi is another waterproofing method. I did not use anything behind the Hardi board, nor do I remember being told to. Had I known sooner, I would have just used sheetrock with the...

I really need some help? Tub won't drain and there are no clogs.

My son had a slow draining washer, the pros came out under the home warranty, snaked it said nothing there, took our money and left. I went on the roof, down the vent and hit a dry clog or dirt dabbers nest. (Home was for sale and had set idle for a while) All drained fine after that.

Replace it with what was there. If you go tankless, it may require more modifications.

help with clog between shower drain and toilet.

Great post and to the "pros", you are right! The only problem is, in trying to get to the good guys like you all that hang here, there are many not so good in the way! So I am sure that we commoners (non plumber types that is) are a bit fearful of making that call, times are tough...

    Re Plumb with Pex

Thanks, I was not sure about running the Pex or replacement thru the actual ceiling joists, this is a one story attic install. It would be cleaner to cut in and run thru joists, but assumned that since it currently now is not, then code did not require it and because of the potential for...

    Re Plumb with Pex

THanks and not long winded at all very informative! Instead of wide turns, should I use 90's? I know it will cost more. Thanks

    Re Plumb with Pex

Thanks for both suggestions and help. What are your feelings toward Pex type piping? Sure seems like it will be easy, but time consuming to do? Is there anything you would use instead? Appears that the galvanized is run on top of ceiling rafters, wo you run the plastic type pipes any...

    Re Plumb with Pex

Remodeling an older home my son bought. This is what it looks like: So if you look on the right side you will see the 2 bathrooms. We plan to start remodeling the one at the top of the page first. My thoughts are to complete it with new lines, maybe pex, and work towards the second...

    Hot water circulating pump question

My father in law, a former commercial plumber, had his on a timer that would run during known peek time periods: 5 am-9am, for instance. In reality it just needs tom run prior to the first need for hot water at the furthest location, right, because then if everyone is up cooking and...

Water Supply for Icemaker and water

Son purchased an older home and it had a brass line feed for the icemaker. We want to update this to have a valve box located in the wall behind the refrigerator. My question is: the house has galvanized pipe and am assuming we can use copper for the line down the wall from the attic. How...

    Shower Pan leak at drain

In this picture, see the busted up black gasket or rubber ring? It goes around the drain coming thru the slab and the inside of the drain. Then the busted up lock ring goes on top. You know!
