Has anyone used a LAKOS Twist II Clean Filter?

Mine has been working well since I installed it. It certainly does not catch all of the silt, but enough that it significantly extends the life of my whole house filters. Even with a good bit of silt, it does not seem to restrict flow a lot, even when it has a significant accumulation in...

What lubricant to use for installing bladder into pressure tank?

I re-installed the bladder this evening. I decided to try installing it without any lubricant so that I would not have flush out the lubricant. It may have been even easier w/lube, but it went in very easily WITHOUT ANY LUBRICANT. It was VERY easy to do and took less than 10 minutes to...

What lubricant to use for installing bladder into pressure tank?

When I took it out, I had it lubed up very well and it came out with very little effort, just constant pressure. I hung the tank up and just applied a steady pull down on the bladder. I assume it will go back in by reversing the process and using an extended tire valve stem puller to hold...

What lubricant to use for installing bladder into pressure tank?

I want to waste MY time. I'm not installing a new bladder, I just want to re-install the perfectly good one I took out. What lubricant would work well?

What lubricant to use for installing bladder into pressure tank?

I have a pressure tank that I was going to use for another project, so I pulled the bladder out. I put dish detergent in the tank to lubricate it and let the bladder slide out. The bladder appears to be in good condition and I would like to put it back into the tank. What lubricant should I...

Has anyone used a LAKOS Twist II Clean Filter?

My LAKOS, Model T2C-150-140 filter arrrived today and I installed it. It has 1.5" inlets and outlets and a 140 mesh(105 micron) screen. It seems to be very well made and works exactly as advertized. Backflushing is super easy and although I did not run the water long enough to build up a...

Has anyone used a LAKOS Twist II Clean Filter?

I went to the Vu-Flow website and looked at the Vu-Flow screen type filters. I did not see any that backflush the way the Lakos Twist II Clean does. If there is a Vu-Flow(or any other brand) product that does an actual backflush the way a Lakos T2C does, can you please provide the model #...

Well Water has excessive amount of sediment in it!

Thanks, for the replies. Speedbump, could you please provide additional details/photos/links on how to construct/create the type of filter that you described.

Well Water has excessive amount of sediment in it!

We did not get into specifics of the filter as we had rather poor cell reception. I welcome suggestions on what filter to use, but I would prefer to avoid spending several hunderd $$ on a filter. It is a garage, not a house, and I will have easy access to flush the filter. If I can get...

Well Water has excessive amount of sediment in it!

I do not have a Well Log. Just what the driller wrote in the cap and notes that I took while they were there drilling. I installed the pump and there is no screen on it. I talked to the driller over the weekend and he said that this is a fairly common problem in my area and this sediment...

Sediment problems - how high should I hang the pump?

Any other/additional opinions on this? I am thinking that I will try raising the pump so that it is a few feet up into the casing. I can raise the pump myself(w/free help) with no cost except for a few wire splices so I think I will try it unless someone explains what harm it might cause...

How to connect fittings to a fiberglass tank.

Thanks for the replies. Bulkhead fittings like you linked to, are what I was thinking about, but I could not recall the appropriate name. Knowing the name should help if I try to find a suitable fitting. I think I will put this Tank Modification Project on the back burner for now as I...

Has anyone used a LAKOS Twist II Clean Filter?

In trying to deal with my sediment problems I have come across Ads and YouTube Videos about this filter. It seems like a quality filter and I like the fact that I should be able to just backflush it instead of changing filters all the time. It has a mesh filter and the finest mesh they...

Sediment problems - how high should I hang the pump?

I am having a sediment problem, probably clay(no sand) and am looking for a low cost solution/s. The sediment fills up my 10" x 4.5" filter pretty quickly. The well supplies a garage/shop, not a residence(no septic), but I may build a house there some day. My well is about 8 years old, 221...

Well Water has excessive amount of sediment in it!

I assumed it was something the driller should know from experience and from observation of what came out as he was drilling. I was there when the well was drilled, but I no longer remember why he told me he stopped casing when he did. Could and should more casing still be installed now...

How to connect fittings to a fiberglass tank.

Thanks for the reply. I already have this tank, it will never rust out, and it fits the available space very well, so I think I will try to use it. I looked up the info on the tank, a Well Mate WM6 and I see that it is actually made of High Density Polyethelene with fiberglass wrapped...

Well Water has excessive amount of sediment in it!

The driller cased about 160'. So I assume you are saying he should have cased more? How does the driller know when to stop casing? Could more casing be installed now?

How to connect fittings to a fiberglass tank.

I am going to try to modify an old pressure tank to work as a "Sediment Bowl Type Tank"(think OLD tractor/lawn mower). I got a bladder tank that appears to be made of fiberglass and have removed the bladder from it. I will be able to use the existing fitting on the bottom of the tank for the...

Well Water has excessive amount of sediment in it!

I fooled around with some of the sediment this morning. It feels soft and kind of slimmy, almost oily. I got a used fiberglass pressure tank from a buddy this morning that I think I may try to modify to use as a Sediment Bowl type of tank. If it does not work I will not have a lot invested...

Well Water has excessive amount of sediment in it!

Thanks for the replies. The water has run for > 24 hours straight several times so I am "afraid" the sediment problem will never go away. What would cause this? I'm not sure of the pump GPM, but IIRC I think it is more than 10 GPM, perhaps 12. I do have 1" instead of 1 1/4" line running...
