What are the consequences of not having a check valve on the pump and is it installed right at the base of the pump before the rest of the discharge piping...

    I don't have a digital camera to take the pictures plus I wouldn't know how to do it. I know it is difficult without a few pics. My neighbour seems to think I need a 3/4 in. compression x 1/2 in. n.p.t. Mueller type fitting. Is there any type fitting?

    gas pipe union

    When you disassemble a union on black steel pipe to change out a gas water heater do you use anything on the two metal surfaces of the union to seal it or is it better without any sealant or oil on it when you reassemble the union.

    copper crimp ring v/s s/s cinch clamps

    Are both the copper and stainless steel rings suitable to use on a 1/2 inch pex cold water line that is going to be concealed in a wall.
