Replacing a backflow anti-syphon for lawn irrigation

So I have an old rainbird atmospheric back flow preventer and I am replacing it after the pipe got damaged this past winter. Thought this was going to be a easy and inexpensive repair, however it has turned out to be a PIA, and defiantly not cheap. Here is the issue i am having. My pipes are...

Removing tub to install walk in shower

That was what I was thinking of doing, as it would keep the pipes on the warm side and reduce the risk of freezing. Like I mentioned it is always hard to determine if I need to do the extra work of building out the ceiling an inch or not as there is so much conflicting information out there...

Water logged 40 gal pressure tank question

I tried to use a valve removal tool but the valve was damaged and only part of the valve came out but the valve seat is still stuck inside. Just wanted to make sure there were no "hidden" issues with drilling a hole in the tank. Good tip on the board to protect the drill!

PEX Manifold issue - request advice

The connection and the manifold are plastic so no corrosion, but i am going to say it is leaking. Easy way to tell, clean it up ( toilet bowl cleaner or coke cola will remove the buildup easy), dry everything, then wrap a piece of paper towel around the connection. Check it everyday...

    Copper pipe against a wall

Could be 3 reasons i can think of for the standoff. But i am not a plumber just a DIY homeowner. 1) pipe sweat could get the drywall wet an cause all kinds of issues, mold, etc. 2) Ease of access for repairs if needed. Would be more difficult to sweat pipe with it directly againt the...

Water logged 40 gal pressure tank question

I recently replaced a bad pressure tank. The tank in question is water logged (water is on top of the bladder, not under it). The tank is full of water and as such weighs a ton. It is completely disconnected and will not drain. The air valve is also damaged and is stuck in the closed...

Plumbing question adding a filter pipe diameter concerns.

Thanks Diehard. I am going to write the "optimal" pressure on the tee also, as it will give me a better indicator as to when i need to change the filter as well.

Help please. Issue with basement sink pumps.

(Disclaimer: I am not a plumber or expert, just a DIY homeowner) I think you have 2 problems. 1) Both ejector pumps shoud go to the main sewage line. It is just asking for issues if they tie together then go to the main line. 2) You have a partial blockage in the main line after where...

Well tank elbow leak on a Water Worker 86gal pressure tank

I have a 5 y/o 86 gal vertical Water Worker pressure tank. It has developed a tiny leak (1 drip per minute) thought the threaded nipple on the bottom of the tank and the 90 degree elbow. What is my best fix for this? I thought about trying to replace the elbow, however then the issue...

Plumbing question adding a filter pipe diameter concerns.

I am adding a whole house filter to my plumbing. The pipe is 1 1/4" coming from the well pump. However the filter inlet size is only 3/4". I was planning on putting the filter between the pump and the pressure tank. Will this cause an issue with the different pipe sizes? 1 1/4" - 3/4" - 1...
