    Push-push tub stopper

I just realized I joined the forum 5 years ago to ask about this same %#@#@! POS: https://www.plumbingforums.com/threads/replacing-drain-stopper-in-acrylic-tub.14778/#post-112478 Back then I got the mfg to send me a replacement stopper. I just unscrewed the cartridge, screwed in the...

    Push-push tub stopper

I have a tub with a push-push stopper (also called tip toe, I think?). It's been in there for 6 years but it's in the guest bath so I nearly never use the tub. Now my daughter is staying with me for a while and she wants a soak -- but the stopper won't stop. It doesn't latch in the down...

Passive pump/valve for recirculating heat loop

Brother sez: "It’s a little hard to tell exactly which is which as the pipes are buried in the ceiling but I *believe* the top one is the main hot water feed to the kitchen, the small top one is the recirculation line and the bottom one comes directly from the water heater." Not terribly...

Passive pump/valve for recirculating heat loop

So this useful functionality just got dropped, with no replacement? What do you do with an existing installation? “So sorry, your hot water feed doesn’t work any more, and there’s no way to fix it” ??

Passive pump/valve for recirculating heat loop

My brother's house has a circulating hot-water loop running from the heater to the kitchen on the other side of the house. I've seen those before, but his loop is **passive**. There's a doohickey that somehow circulates the water, but no pump. No power. Totally passive. I have no idea how...

Replacing drain stopper in acrylic tub

Happy ending: I posted a less-than-stellar review of the tub on Amazon, and suddenly they were very interested in making me happy. After some back & forth with their customer-support person, they found the tub that had replaced my model, and "maybe the stopper from that tub will fit?" It just...

    Whole House Water Filter

~25 yrs ago my ex got talked into buying a whole-house filter from Equinox, a pyramid-sales company. It looks just like a Rhino / Aquasana EQ-300 filter: https://www.aquasana.com/replacement-whole-house-filters/300k-gallon-tank It seems to work well. It's supposed to have several classes of...

Replacing drain stopper in acrylic tub

There isn't really a strainer, just the three crossbars that the click-click doodad (technical term there) screws into. Maybe I can grab ahold of those and unscrew it, if it's not glued or otherwise attached?

Replacing drain stopper in acrylic tub

Yes, I unscrewed the actual "stopper" (the metal circle with a rubber "washer" around the edge) from the underlying hardware. The brass piece is the click-click part. And yes, it does unscrew. (Duh. I meant to try that and forgot.) Here's a picture of the underside. I tried removing the...

Replacing drain stopper in acrylic tub

I have an AKDY F278 tub: https://www.amazon.com/AKDY-F278-Bathroom-Standing-Acrylic/dp/B00E6C1IMC/ We installed it about 18 months ago. I very seldom use it, but after 3-4 uses, the stopper quit working. It's a push-push stopper: push closed, push open. Well now it doesn't "push closed" any...
