    Undermount sink issue

Yes, or about 10 pounds per clip. Or about 1.2 lb/sq inch load on the adhesive used on a typical sink (I used a Kohler K-5540 as an example).

    Undermount sink issue

Most undermount fixtures come with clips used to hold the fixture in place. Most installers throw the clips away and just use a good adhesive caulk. I've always had doubts about the caulk, but after having had to remove a caulked-in sink, I was a believer. But, the caulk left over from last...

    U By Moen Smart Faucet

Probably right, but some sort of presence sensor wouldn't be a bad idea.

Or better yet, turn it off if the sensor that detected the user in the first place doesn't senser any more.

Can I have help finding a Wi-Fi controlled ON/OFF Timer for my water heater's recirculator pump?

I use the under-sink doohickies everywhere and Alexa controls the pump on/off. Works great, no wiring required.

Have rainshower, want to add handheld

Once I was 5' 10", but I liked the shower hitting me in the nape of the neck, so I wanted a lower arm. I used an adjustable arm for years. Now I have to use a bench in the shower, so I'd like it even lower. The shower valve is at 36", next to the bench, and the outlet is next to it, with a...

Have rainshower, want to add handheld

How on Earth did the "standard" shower height come to be 80" or more? No code requirement, as near as I can tell, but most design guides advise 78", some go as high as 84". I had to fight with a contractor to lower mine to 72". Even with many shower heads having controls on them you can fiddle...

    Tank refilled in days!

We just had the tank back up into the house due to an overload of toilet paper, which clogged at the inlet baffle. I think this was because of a predominance of those of the female persuasion using a lot of TP in the first place, and low-flow toilets not providing enough water to completely...

Can I have help finding a Wi-Fi controlled ON/OFF Timer for my water heater's recirculator pump?

Now I get it; thanks. Pressure differential is pretty small; shows why it takes so long. I'll stick with the pump :).

Can I have help finding a Wi-Fi controlled ON/OFF Timer for my water heater's recirculator pump?

Yeah, I just assumed an easy case to figure, but clearly the cold-ish return line doesn't get cold at the top. I know it does work, just wondering why. Maybe somebody who stayed awake in calculus and thermodynamics could tell us.

Can I have help finding a Wi-Fi controlled ON/OFF Timer for my water heater's recirculator pump?

I wonder why the thermosiphon works at all if you use 3/4" Cu for the hot riser and 1/2" for the cold faller. A back-of-the-envelope calculation tells me that for a height difference of 20', there will be about 4.2lb of water in the hot pipe and 2.0lb in the cold pipe. Maybe I'm missing...

Can I have help finding a Wi-Fi controlled ON/OFF Timer for my water heater's recirculator pump?

Well, I've been fascinated with this thread. Fascination aside, 2 comments: 1) The thermosiphon runs all the time, no? Doesn't that waste a lot of energy heating that water every time it runs around the circuit? Doesn't matter quite so much if you use solar heater(s). 2) The really cool way to...

    TPR Valve failure

What Diehard said in #5. If there's a check valve in the main line to your house, then the water heater might be causing enough expansion during normal cycles to make the PRV drip.

    Thermostats

This idea isn't fully baked, but I've noticed that I often feel colder or warmer at the same thermostat setting, but depending on the outside temperature or appearance. We keep the thermostat (in an interior hallway) at 71°, but I feel cold if it's gloomy and 45° outside, but warm if it's sunny...

    Toilet Height/Caulking

Some of the vinyl plank flooring at HD is 5.5mm, and I've got some leftovers from HD that are 5/16", so you might get by with a couple layers. If you rummage around in the back at HD, you might find a scrap, reject, or broken something-or-other that might work and be a right price. What is the...
