How to read this furnace gauge?

Thanks, Diehard! I assumed that the 3rd stick was for a setpoint but I wanted someone to confirm it so I knew for sure. I appreciate your reply!

How to read this furnace gauge?

20181228_123651 by Airwolf posted Dec 28, 2018 at 6:07 PM This gauge is on an oil furnace. I understand one stick is for temp, the other for pressure. What is the 3rd stick for?

Water hammer after new washer part installed

Thanks for the replies! I installed the Sioux Chief arresters and they made a world of difference. Hammering isn't totally eliminated but it's really close. Way better than it was before. Not sure what caused this issue to start happening after the washing machine fill valve was replaced...

Water hammer after new washer part installed

I've never had an issue with water hammer in my house until a couple months ago. The fill valve on our newer LG washer went bad. Because we had the extended warranty I just called the company and they sent a tech. He confirmed it was the fill valve and replaced it the next day. Ever since...

Leak where water supply line enters basement

Thanks for your reply, Tom! Have a bucket under it now, not getting much, just a slow drip. Was going to wait til spring or summer when it's dry for a while to make the repair. Any suggestions on removing the old caulk? There's not a lot of space around that pipe.

I was thinking about using some sort of silicone type caulk because that's what was there originally. I looked at Lowe's and they have some...

Leak where water supply line enters basement

I attached a picture. The leak occurs from the caulk around the bottom left area of the pvc pipe. The copper pipe isn't centered in the pvc, so there's only about a 1/8" gap between the copper pipe and the pvc pipe. I guess I'm mainly looking for what particular product to use and how to...

Leak where water supply line enters basement

I have a Ranch style house that is 27 years old. I just noticed after a heavy rain/snow melt that my water supply line in the basement is dripping. The copper line runs through a PVC pipe in the cinder block wall. The gap around the copper pipe (inside the PVC) seems to be patched with...
