I would think if that was the case you would notice an extra wet area, or an extra high water bill. I don't know the answer for sure, but maybe it has to do something with the water heater. I changed my anode rod and did a flush and you would not believe the crap that came out of my tank...

Sadly tankless will not work with my HVAC system. I have a aquatherm which pulls hot water from the water heater and then returns the extra water to the tank.:(

Did you hook up the hot side to the hot side or did you put the cold on the hot side? If you hooked it up wrong way that would be an issue. Take pictures and post it. Visuals can only help the pros on here understand what's going on..
