Hi All,

Quick question from partially color blind, mostly inexperienced, homeowner:

Is the gas line valve in this photo copper? black iron? galvanized?

I need to put a cap on it, but don't know what type to buy. Not sure if it matters, but it's the line that goes to the dryer.

I know I should've cleaned it up a bit for the photo, but I'm at work and not at the condo to do that. I just took this photo yesterday, so I'd have something to go on when I went to the hardware store on my lunch break today. Turns out, it wasn't as easy to match as I thought. Luckily I at least grabbed this photo.

Thank you!

Thank you. I have the right size cap, but I bought a brass one and I just don't know if I need to get an iron or steel one instead. I read that mixing metals could cause problems, so I want to be sure I use a cap of the correct material.

Thank you!
