Hey guys, I recently changed my vanity and my tail piece and old P Trap don't seem to be aligning together (see attached image). I tried some flexible pipe and those pipes worked fine, no leaks or anything like that; however, since its really tight, the tail piece is leaking. I even used plumbers putty, but no luck. Any pipe recommendations?

Your P-trap is backwards for starters. And get that accordion out of there just going to plug up with ****. That tailpiece looks like crap take it off clean it up and if it still leaks go out and buy a quality one

Does anyone have an answer? I'd like to get this project done this weekend and any help would be great. Thanks

Here you go

Putty is not to be used in this way. It's not like a mortar. And voletl answered your concerns.

Redo the pop up assembly seal, use a threaded tailpiece extension instead of accordion, install the trap properly, and use angle stops instead of straight stops. Other than that it looks like a pro did it.

It's like a train wreck.....I can't look away!

Like V said....your p-trap is backwards, that flexible pipe is only good for giving little kids to play with. I'm not sure why stores sell it, and I can't in good conscience reccomend anyone ever use it

Is the drain assembly new? Or did you re-use it off the old sink? If it's reused, the seal may not be good anymore. I reccomend buying a quality mechanical drain assembly made with brass components. Those plastic drains that come with the faucets are a throw away item.

Since I get the impression professional advice is just falling on deaf ears.....just gob it up with silicone and let it set and see what happens.
