All new pipes in kitchen sink...now not draining

We replaced all the pipes, drains, etc. on our double kitchen sink (dishwasher, with no disposal). We were not having draining problems before; it was just leaking from hodgepodge fittings that the previous owner installed. Now the sink drains so so slowly and when the dishwasher drains, it backs up into the sink. My husband's busy with another project so I'd like to try to check some things on the sink myself. Any suggestions of what I can do?

could be many things

The drain just maybe blocked with built up sludge.
The drain may have already started to close up with junk and goo and when it got disturbed to install the new parts it closed up even more.
Probably just needs to be cleaned properly

Not that I know anything but I am guessing a lack of an AAV or poor/non-existent venting.

Could be that when you installed the arm coming out of the trap itself, the piece was too long and is butting up against the next fitting in (Tee, 90 etc.), which would restrict drainage flow pretty significantly. Try taking that piece out and cutting an inch or so off.

I agree with fansplumbing. You may have pushed that tubular too far into the fitting that comes out of the wall. Pull it out and cut it to the correct length. It only needs to go in about 3-4 inches at the most. If not the line may need to be snaked at lest 50' all the way to the main sewer line under the house.

I'm having the same issue as the poster. My house is a new build that we moved into last week and the sinks take all night to drain. I'm 99% sure we did not drop anything into the sink to clog it. Another possibility is that the builders accidentally clogged the drains. However for some reason (the newness of the plumbing) I'm leaning towards some type of bad plumbing.

Attached is an image that I took from the left cabinet door as I can't get straight on to due to the center divider blocking the shot. There appears to be a slight slope (1cm difference?) from the disposal side to the trap side. That is about the extent of my plumbing terminology and understanding of plumbing. Before I called the builder / plumber I was hoping for some advice.

I have a similar problem (without the detail). What was the resolution? If you could include a pic that would be helpful.

What was the fix for the drainage issue. I'm having a similar problem.

ibuilt needs to send a picture. Skeeterflea yours seem to look good. I would suggest an electric snake ran through it. It looks like you have an AAV on your system which is good. sfthreaded, without seeing yours I would say do the same as above. Snakeing the drain is the best solution besides replacing all the kitchen drain to the main.
