If you can't find a little hex set screw(Allen wrench) along the sides somewhere and no one answers your question, I would suggest you simply call Delta.

It almost looks like you may have drilled something out.:eek:

EDIT: If you did remove the set screw and are having trouble lifting it that's a another problem that should be discussed.
 
Wow, Marisa, it looks like you went right through the solid top of the handle, hunting for a screw, very aggressive move there.

You certainly are determined, but now you have two problems:
Repairing the valve, and replacing that cap you destroyed.

Or maybe you are changing out the whole faucet anyway, in which case, no biggie?
 
Unscrew the gold tops of those handles and there should be a screw underneath. The hole you drilled is off center so you can’t see the screw from that location.
