Hi everyone,

First, thank you to the moderators for allowing me to post my website.

The website is:

http://moonlightplumbers.com/plumbers/area/Pennsylvania/mid/6831
linked to admin example profile page.

Moonlight Plumbers is a site for customers and plumbers to connect easily. Right now it is free for everyone to use and their is no delay in connecting. A customer simply searches his or her area, locates a plumber and reads their profile. On a moonlight plumbers profile gives a description of their experience, their hourly rate, their phone number, their email (behind a captcha for spam protection), and any reviews which may have been left.

The site is in its infancy and we encourage all of you to signup. If you are a potential customer, an email will be sent to you when a new moonlighter is available in your area. If you are a plumber you can add your profile and take advantage of our services, for free, while we build up the online customers. Moonlighters simply signup as a customer, then you can upgrade to offer your services. Upgrade is achieved by clicking the link in the top right corner when logged in as a customer.

A little history of why this site was developed.

It was last November I took a week long trip to Mexico and flew out of JFK airport. While on vacation, the long term parking services (they were not a legitimate operation), stole multiple parts off my car. What they did though, was replace my good parts with bad parts. Part of my exhaust had bolts that could be twisted off by hand which would make that scenario impossible unless they were recently tampered with.

So, insurance covered over $6K for replacing whatever parts said to be stolen. Well, I got back a car that idled at 1500RPM, smelled like exhaust, and had complete loss of power. I went back to the insurance company and told them this. I visited 3 different shops to try and find out what was wrong. None helped. They would tell me things completely unrelated were wrong, nothing was wrong, etc. Long story short, I received no help and almost put my car in the grave.

I started googling the problems I had and I would see forums and talk about possible causes. So I purchased the parts online to replace them myself. Purchasing the parts online I also paid a fraction what I would have paid a shop for the parts, forget about the labor, just the parts. So I dug into fixing and replacing parts in my engine. Wow, it was an experience but I sure wished I had some help.

You know, the person you can call to come over and take a look. I didn't have that help, but I managed to do it over a 3 day period. I brought the RPM's down to about 800 idle, and the power returned. Basically I had clogged valves, air leaks in various places, and broken exhaust components in multiple locations.

So anyways, making this post shorter I wanted to create a site where people can visit to find "that guy or girl" who can help out with a car, a house project, leaky sink, leaky toilet, etc.

So I did that, and moonlightplumbers.com is the first to go live.

We also have (to be launched shortly):
moonlightelectricians.com
moonlightmechanics.com
moonlighthandyman.com

Anyone can take advantage of all sites, for free. Please feel free to signup and sharing with friends and family would be much appreciated. Who doesn't want to have "that guy or girl" who can help you out, an email or phone call away?

Regards,

The Moonlight Team

Here is an interesting article:

http://www.cnbc.com/2015/04/08/google-planning-a-new-way-to-connect-home-service-market-report.html

100 million invested by google into thumbtack in 2015. All that money went into advertising because it didn't go into the actual service. I haven't seen so many unhappy users post on facebook about a service or product, ever. What thumbtack does is collect money from contractors, up front, for a lead. About $10/lead. The complaints are mostly bogus leads, incomplete leads to provide a quote, and/or leads they get are not from serious customers.

They sell the leads up to 5 times from my understanding. Thumbtack is trying to capitalize on every single lead and it's going to put them out of business, guaranteed. Google will write that 100 million off as a luncheon.
