I have a 2-handle shower that has almost no pressure. The pressure doesn't change when you have hot on full and add cold on full or vice versa. My thoughts immediately went to shower valves. (We just bought this house, so I don't know if the shower ever ran better than this or when this started happening.) None of the other faucets have issues with pressure. I was disassembling the valves - which was a pain as everything had been caulked together, and came across an issue removing the valves. I removed the gray cap and the brass ring, and I still can't get the valve out. Here are my questions:
1. Will replacing the valves solve my issue?
2. What kind of valves are these?
3. Is there another part that has to be removed for me to get the valves out or do I just need to find a way to pry it out?
4. Is the gray part on the valve, part of the valve or part of the handle?
5. Can I replace these valves with any kind of valve?
Pictures included are shower water at full blast, the valve, and parts removed.
