I have a raised ranch- I have a bathroom upstairs and down. Downstairs bathroom has a pipe to drain the washer and dryer. When I use bathtub upstairs or flush the toilet it comes up the exposed pipe for my washer downstairs. Is the main line clogged? Going to get a snake tomorrow. My downstairs toilet and bathtub work without a back log of water, any ideas?
 
You have a partial stoppage. Unless you have a large snake capable of cleaning a 3" or 4" line then you don't have a big enough able to do the job. You will probably have to pull the toilet upstairs to clear it
I suggest calling a pro. This sounds a bit more than a DIY. Drain cleaning company will have the right equipment to do it right... USUALY :cool:
