After running hot water any where in the house, my water heater makes loud knocking sounds and what sounds like waves crashing. My hubby drained the water thinking it was a sediment issue. The minute I ran hot water, the sounds were back. What could this be?
 
Simple: Exactly what hubby said, sediment issues. You waited too long before draining the sediment out and now have a layer of sedimentary rock in your water heater. Time to save for a new water heater as the result of this build-up is pre-mature failure of the water heater tank.
