Hi Guys,

This is an ongoing problem I would like to resolve in my home. I have an issue with my upstairs bathroom toilets. When you flush one it siphons water form the other. I am aware that this is likely a venting issue. I have tried getting on the roof and sending a hose with water down the vent in an attempt to clear any blockage. After speaking with neighbors who all have the same layout in their homes, it is a common problem in the neighborhood. This makes me wonder if it is actually a piping issue rather than a blockage. Any suggestions on where to start looking to resolve this? Thanks

probably is a piping issue. nothing can be done about it with the sheet rock covering the wall.

all we can do. is stand their, look at the wall, rub our chin whiskers and give you verbal support.

saying things like, " yeah, must be a piping issue", "billy ray bob down the street has the same house you do"

"except his front porch is a little different and he has a patio"

AND " ole widow johnson also, She told me this morning her was acting up"..

"Did you know she has got to go the the hospital next week?"

Boy if it aint one thing its another,

Common piping issue. The advent of new low flow quick flush toilets has resulted in this phenomenon. The common methods of piping back to back toilets no longer work like they used to. The solution is major demolition and re-doing the toilet drain piping.

Now that is one advanced case of ugly...

It's said that beauty is only skin deep, but in this instance ugly goes down to the bone... :(

Ran into this situation with a customer. Old toilets never siphoned, new ones do. What is the reason? Smaller trap seal?
