Hi all-
The set screw that holds the tube inside the knob housing to the diverter valve stem on my whirlpool tub unscrewed itself such that the knob no longer lifts anything and the diverter no longer works. I was able to take apart the knob housing to expose the valve stem, but I have no idea how one is supposed to get the set screw back in place. I've include pictures of what I'm dealing with:
Pic 1: the exposed valve stem
Pic 2: the knob housing inside of which is a loose tube with a set screw hole. This tube goes over the valve stem, but the problem is that I cannot access the set screw hole. I assume the knob housing must come apart further, but try as I might I cannot figure out what else might unscrew
Pic 3: the housing from the bottom showing the tube and the set screw hole, which is impossible to access as long as the tube is inside the housing (sorry for blurriness, phone had issues shooting to close)
Any advice would be most welcome! Thanks very much.
Best,
DSCH
