I want to lube faucet rubber o-rings. Petroleum shouldn't be used on rubber.

Would dielectric (bulb/sparkplug) grease from an auto parts store be the best (and cheapest) bet?

Many Oatey silicone greases contain petroleum. Why?

Petroleum oil-based valve and faucet stem grease

Petroleum Based formula

They do make this with no petroleum:

But I don't see it for sale through online search so it's likely hard to find and an plumbing supply store only item, and the local one is closed when I'm off work (if they even have it). And I'm sure it's $10+ for something I need a BB size amount of.

I have the Oatey Silicone Grease from Lowe's - part number #30219. The back of the package says "contains no petroleum additives and is recommended as a lubricant for rubber and plastic parts".

Don't know why the website says it's petroleum based.
