I have a laundry room that was priviously part of the garage and now part of the main house. The original pipe was just a 2" straight pipe to the box with no vent. There was a laundry sink added the sink will not drain I'm afraid to hook up the washer if the sink backs up so will the washer. I've had serveral plumbers out and either they want a mad amount of money or they do work and still won't fix the issue. Here is a pic of how it looks now.

that is about the ugliest damn thing I have seen in a month.

some idiot who does not know anything about plubing did that, the reason your plumber wants a bunch of money is because it

all of it has to be ripped out and completely redone.

this will get it ''legal''

after it is redone, then the issue of the stoppage can be addressed, my advice is while all that crap is removed

snake out the drain pipe going thru the floor, easier access at that time, when you stick your snake in the pipe

check it for a ptrap or 90, you did say it had no vent,,,,makes me wonder if a trap is below concrete.

laundry drain has to be 2"

The sink can be 1-1\2" to vent
