Hi master plumbers this one is for you.what is the best size blade for the grinder to cut into cast iron?also is that best way to cut cast iron? Thanks in advance

Is it old cast iron or new?

Lenox makes cast iron cutting recip blades but they don't work well at all on brand new stuff. I have had success with them on old pipe but above all I'd rather use a pair of snap cutters where space allows.

I've used a Diablo cast iron Diamond grit cutting blade in a small Ridgid mini reciprocating saw. It took a little while to get through, but I was taking my time. The cut was nice and straight.

I use a el cheapo diamond blade in my 4 1/2" angle grinder, or the thin metal cutting blades. They cut faster, but you will wear them down and need to put a new one on rather quickly.

Thank you all.im going with the 4 1/2 diamond blade.and yes its for old cast iron.
