HI- new to the site. Big thanks for any help.
I am redoing my bathroom. I bought Moen Commercial 8342 http://www.faucetdepot.com/pdfs/8342sp.pdf. I wanted the 3-port valve to be 2 discrete, 1-shared. It is 3 discrete (the .pf linked showed that, but not the site were I bought it...bummer).
I like that it is all metal. Not much plastic junk on it. So how can I make it work how I want? I see it 2 ways:
1) Buy another 3-way xfer valve like this:
http://www.faucetdirect.com/moen-3372-transfer-1-2-cc-connection-valve/p1039778?source=gba_1039778&CAWELAID=381666957
2. Tie the 3rd discrete to both the shower head & wand, and then put check valves in so that water doesn't backflow.
So, now to my question. Will option #2 work? What kind of check valves will I need. The object of option 2 is to save some of my $90. Is it worth it? Input appreciated.
Regards ,Jeff
