I have a home built in 1992. Is this polybutylene or PEX? I took the shower valve cover off and took this photo.

Looks like Uponor Wirsbo PEX.

Then why is it the wall behind my showers? Wonder if the home was re-plumed. Would have been hard a the home is a santa fe with no attic space.

I don't know, but PEX was pretty much unknown in 1992. Wirsbo expansion fittings definitely weren't around at that time.

i still have my old poly crimpers, from putting that stuff in . back in the 80's

ProPEX® ASTM F1960 expansion fittings were introduced in 1992. My photo shows F1960 on the fitting. What are the chances it is original?
