Purchased a new place and have a problem with the hydrant in my barn. Got it dug up and the hole keeps filling with water. I live in Michigan, the water to the barn is shut off, but the hole has standing water in it. The barn is located next to a swampy area and the water table is HIGH.

Can a sump pump be used in some kinda new installation of a new hydrant. The last one likely failed because of the water table. Looking for suggestions to solve my problem. Any advice will be appreciated.

Thank you,

what exactly are you wanting to do?

you want to get rid of the water from around your barn area ? or just where the hydrant is?

if the whole area, you need french drains installed draining to a collection point or daylight in a field

but, if your under the water level of a swamp. your pretty well screwed

do you have pictures? so we can clearly see your delimia
