I installed a Moen T2701 shower handle today that I purchased a while back when it was discontinued. No matter what I try (loosening, tightening screws, etc) I cannot get it to stop wobbling.

I did find that someone posted a video on YouTube (link below) of the EXACT same problem, but didn't offer a solution. Anyone have any thoughts?

Thank you for your replies!

I tried both with and without the washer, made little difference.

The pic below is from before I pulled out and replaced the cartridge today... it was unbelievably tricky to get that plaster ground out of the way to pull the retainer clip out, and even trickier to get it back in place!

That said, the Escutcheon screw holes in the plaster ground each have (spacers?) on them that extend fully back to and sit flush against the screw holes on the valve itself, so I'm not sure how the valve could come further out than it is. Perhaps a faulty design of the plaster ground?

Any other ideas / suggestions?
