Whole house water filter products

I'm looking at possibly putting in a whole house water filter, and I like this guy's take on it.
Examine local water report and design the filter based on what might need to be removed.

Is this a good way to go about a whole house water filter?
And anybody have good/bad experiences in the filters he provides if you've used/installed them?

we use iSpring WGB21B, Great water pressure from my well. After installing this device our water tastes great, I am very satisfied with it.
