Hello,
Trying a DIY on a cottage after winter damaged two areas. I'm not sure the size of the pipes but they can't be more than half inch. As you can see in the photo one has a lip. They appear as a break between pipes, which is good. I just don't want it to happen again and need an idea on the best way to go about it. Solder, plumbing tape, push n' connect, poly insert, steel hose clamp? I would appreciate any suggestions you have, thanks.

Best way? Solder pex x copper adapters onto the copper pipes and hook the pex to them. Or remove the copper and start over with pex. Pex gives you the best freeze protection and is easiest for an amateur to connect.
