I have an older shower and the tenants have stripped out the handles trying to get the water to stop. Lowes and Home Depot seem to be obsessed with plastic one-size-fits-all clamp-on stuff. The valves are in great shape and I've replaced the washers; I just need the handles.

Where is the best place to buy real handles designed to fit "L" splines on my valves? No one seems to list the spline size online.

To answer my own question, you have to search "L broach". Not "L stem,", "L splines", "L shower valve handle", or any derivation thereof.

I was going batty there for a bit....

I go by spline count and size. It depends on which manufacturer you’re dealing with if you go by a letter.

It’s a 16 point .40”
