Hi guys, when do you glue the trap adapter to a stub out / elbow - before or after drywall?

If after drywall, do you glue a 4-6" pipe to the elbow as a stub out before drywall?

I do the trap adapter after the cabinets are installed. If there’s a cabinet.

We just dry fit a 3"-5" piece in when we do a rough-in. Drywall and plaster happen, cabinets happen, countertops happen, then we come back, pull that piece out, and figure out what needs to get glued in. Do we need an offset? Is the sink way close to the wall, oddly far away? Saves redoing anything if another trade did something unexpected.

I’ve done this as well if the work is not being water tested.
