As a newlywed back in 1976, the wife and I moved into an apartment in Upstate New York with our two newly acquired cats. We were dumb, and probably a bit lazy and decided that it was okay to dump the clay-based kitty litter down the toilet at the beginning of a flush cycle and continue to flush one or two more times "just to make sure". Well, after about a month, the whole thing backed up solid as a rock and the landlord sent a plumber to see what the matter was. Caught red-handed and unable to wiggle my way out of it, I received a bill in the mail the following month detailing what they found.
