Hello,

This is my first post on the site. Will probably be asking more questions than answering.

Cleaning out the basement of an old family house. This is whats in the foundation. I dont recognize it as a sump pump but i wanted to ask if it is indeed one or something else?

There is a regular old sump pump laying on the ground not used so kind of confused. Whatever it is must be working because there hasnt been water for the last 45 years

It is the water main and that is a municipal water meter. The wiring goes to a electronic sending unit to transmit the use data to the district.
