Water softener replacement

I recently bought a home, they have a water softener that has been unused for last 3-4 years.Should I replace it completely or contact the Water Softener company for reservicing.
Any Kind of feedback is appreciated.

I would get a water softening company to check it out. This could save a lot of money it it is saveable
