I bought this Erickson Comet drain cleaner about 20 years ago and have used it as a typical homeowner. It is 25' x 1/4". It has no kinks in it (yet!) but it does seem less stiff than it once was, i.e. The last foot or two that never gets used much seems much stiffer than the first foot or two. I guess I could swap it around end over end but then I wouldn't have the little propeller dealie on the leading end. Is there an effective life span to these snakes or do you pretty use them until you get a kink?

Thanks,

glenmore

1st thing I do is usually cut the dealie thing off the end and put a gooch on it.

David's dictionary:
gooch. bi-directional bend on the end of a drain cleaning cable.

If you're worried it might break off in the drain while using it don't use it.
