Tile wallboard

Replacing tile wallboard in shower/tub wall . They have drywall only behind the tile board . Do I need to somehow put a water proof barrier over the drywall or will new tile board be ok?

Behind tub walls I like to see concrete board, sealed. No drywall.

Some lazy folks will use greenboard drywall, but honestly, you are just asking for future problems. Install a concrete backerboard, tape and cover the seams, and it will last forever.
