We are having a new mound system installed at our residence by a licensed septic installer. Just want to know if there's specific things I should look or ask for as I am presented with the design. I want to do everything to be assured of low maintenance

1. Hire a company that stands behind their work.
2. use the cheaper toilet paper. Nothing quilted.
3. Install an inspection lid and inspect it once a year.
4. Pump tank every 6 years.
Use yeast or Ridex at least 3-4 times a year

Your county health dept. should be responsible for approving the engineered plan for the system. Usually based on the # of bedrooms or fixtures. Talk w/ them and the engineer that designed the system for best practice for life of the design.
