Steps to Resolve Snake in Tub

Can someone direct me with steps to resolve snake in drain?
It could be coming from septic system or entering from root broken drain.
He promptly retreated to his hole.

is there threaded hole in the drain assembly so you can put a strainer cover on......another thing you can do is remove the drain piece that threads onto the (shoe)under the tub and replace it with whats called a toe tap drain

Get the heck out of that house. That is crazy. Check the cleanouts outside if you have any. How deep is your sewer, i didn't think snakes went that deep.
