@Diehard If I cut the chrome pipe, how long of the chrome part needs to remain inside the abs part after reassembling. In other words, how short can I safely cut the chrome pipe?
I believe 1"or 2" to remain inserted in the pipe, is sufficient, however, your main concern is to allow the trap assembly to be lowered sufficiently to allow removal. So if you were to cut about an inch above the top of the ABS pipe, when the trap is touching bottom, that would allow you the clearance to remove it, right?
