Hi all,

Newbie here, looking forward to hearing your input!
Anyway, I am in the process of renovating our enclosed back porch. The room measures 10' x 18, so it's not a large room. The radiator, however, is huge and it works only when the boiler has been on for a considerable amount of time. It measures 5' X 3' tall. It differs from the other steam radiators in that is has two pipes--- all the other radiators in the house are on a single pipe. I have two questions..
a. what is the reason for this?
b. If I were to replace this radiator for a smaller one, would I need to find one that is on a two pipe system?
Any info would be great and thank you in advance!

Just make sure the 'radiator' you mention is not a heat sink for a solid fuel fire. I don't know much about your systems as they are rare in the UK sorry
