My shower drain was recently leaking due to the shower not being manufactured correctly so the shower drain had an issue. A Plumber came in a put some silicone around the shower drain and had replaced the gasket. Is the silicone going to dissolve after a while causing my shower drain to leak into my downstairs neighbors condo again?

Does anybody provide an answer to my previous post regarding Silicone added around my shower drain?? Thanks!

100% Silicone is impervious to water.
For shower drains, the absolute only ones we install are brass not plastic.
The silicone goes between the flange and the shower base, nowhere else: you should not be able to see the silicone, except for a bead on the margin of the flange.
Plastic shower drain's flanges' nuts pop off all the time.
