Shower pan drain hole doesn't align with the old drain pipe

Hi there,

We are replacing the old shower stall and currently the drain hole on the new shower pan is about half an inch to maybe an inch away from the main pipe. My plumbing friend suggested to forced align it but maybe I could get some other options.
